Kaylee Gatto Logo Project 2

When I first started my logo I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted it to say. I couldn't think of anything too fancy so, I figured I would just do my name. I looked up different logos online to get some creative ideas of what to do. The one logo that stood out to me was the one with a ship attached to a word. Then I started to think about what type of things interest me, and since my logo was my name, I started to brainstorm what I could put into my name to make it look cool. At first I thought I could add a palm tree into my name and just draw a Mickey face and a sun. Since I love disney and beachy places this seemed like a good idea. To me that didn't look right, along with the bubble lettering, so then I tried to write my name in cursive. I liked this more than the bubble lettering so I decided to do that. Then I thought it would be cute to put little Mickey heads on the ends of the letters. I got to my final logo by using my favorite colors and experimenting with different ways to write my name. Since I like the colors purple and blue, I wanted that to be the color of my name and I have always thought these two colors look good together. I also tried to do the overlapping cursive writing, which didn't turn out so bad like I expected. While creating my logo, I discovered it takes experimenting to get the picture right. I learned that ideas come to your head each time you create a new picture and each time it improves the last drawing. I can understand why we did practice logos before our final logo. The most important information I learned is that logos are important in capturing people's attention. I learned that some logos can be 3D animations and making logos on the computer is an easier way than creating it by hand. It was interesting to see how they brought the characters to life on the computer. I learned that logos are used more than I thought and in everyday life. For example, on the PowerPoint it showed the logo of a womens and a mens room. These are logos that people don't normally realize are logos. They are logos that everyone understand and they are just basic.
